For the all of the children but Bernard, her mother came down to take care of the mother and children. She died in the Fall of 1919, so she was not alive to be the aid for the birth of Bernard. For the birth of Bernard, the aid was Jenny Geyer. Jenny Geyer first married a man named Basten and had a son named Floyd Basten. She next married a Walker.
Never got used to Lancaster, Always longed for Pittsburgh. Her mother was the "pride and joy" of her life. When she married Edward Martin she moved into the house of her mother in law along with her sister in law. In addition, Malthilda always lived with him and Edward. Used to tell Bernard Uebelhoer. When you get married, always live by yourself, even if it means living in a one bedroom place.
"Get Down on Earth" was her famouse quote when the children were causing trouble.
Later In Life:
She died of pnenumia. She and Malthilda were sick. When she was sick, she would just get to bed and she would get up and say "going to see my mother".
[42] When she died, she was broke. Her daughers Coletta and Helene paid for her burial since they did not have any children to support
